RAISE THOSE FISTS IN THE AIR!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Trey Edwards @ 9:38 am

I just got home from the Big Spring Jam festival in Huntsville Alabama. IT TOTALLY ROCKS!! as my status says on my Facebook,
“Trey is home from the BSJ, where he jumped up and down like a rock star, headbanged like a drunk idiot, screamed and waved his hand in the air LIKE HE DOESENT C.A.R.E.!”
haha. Skillet(Heavy Rock) rocked, but not much of a crowd was there, and the sun was in our face. We then went to the Christian stadium, which we first caught the last part of Thousand Foot Krutch (Rap/Rock), which I wanted to see al of. That was the first sign that I was going to enjoy myself. (F.Y.I.: I have never done anything like this before in my life, and the only concert I have been to was the BSJ last year, and that was not that fun.) I first raised my hands in the air during “Rawkfist” by Thousand Foot Krutch. Then BarlowGirl (Contemporary Christian/Rock) came out, and I didn’t really listen to them, I do not like that soft of music. During the concert, however, one of the Barlows (the band consists of three sisters) made a long speech/sermon about modesty, refraining from physical temptation in relationships, and on why not to date. People started to leave when she started talking, since she offended all of the not-so-modest people there. Then… Tobymac (Rap/Hip-hop/Rock) came on! YEAH! They brought out multi-colored fluorescent lights (40 or 50), strobe light, fog generators, extra mikes, etc. They ROCKED! I was close to the front, and that is when I started having fun. Refer to above quote for description. And, the best part is, someone sold me a two-day ticket for the price of a one-day ticket, since they no longer needed it. Therefore, I GET TO GO AGAIN TOMORROW!!!

The ups and downs of life.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Trey Edwards @ 8:51 pm

The ups:
Jennifer is home. We just had two days off of school, during which time I was able to significantly improve my awesome Galactic Battlegrounds superpowers. have partially fixed my computer problems, only one of the adware programs come up, and that is only when the computer starts up. That is a huge relief. We are, as I type, spraying the house for Black Widows, we have found several spiders, and two nests so far. This stuff STINKS! And I am still awesome.

The downs:
I was sick with severe allergy (and I mean very severe. Couldn’t see at all, eyes were extremely swollen, tears streaming down my face, sneezing, nose dripping, etc. and this was all while I was on medication) problems last Wednesday, and mild-med problems today. We have Black Widows in our house. The Hancocks were not able to come over for three days like they had planned (the reason we were taking a couple of days off of school). I am not adapting well to my new school book (Algebra 2), but I am determined to do better. I have played way too many video games during the last two days, when my time should have been spent doing more productive things.

OU won yet again on Saturday, the score being 62-21. That is the closest we have gotten so far. haha. In case you don’t know, the “OU” I am referring to is Oklahoma University, ranked, like, 3rd, or so. However, I share some of the same concerns that many people on the OU group I read, and that is, after beating all of these wimpy little teams from the middle of nowhere, we will not find ourselves ready to face a big opponent.

On Monday, I came home from the 412 conference I had said I was going to attend, in a previous post. It was not at all what I had expected. I expected it to be like any conference I had attended so far: dress clothes, white tables, coffee, an old guy up at the end of the room, talking for a couple of hours. It was not. The first thing I did upon arrival was full-tackle football. I attended eight sessions/sermons in all. We left before the last one. Everything was fairly cheap, the meals cost around $5.00 each. I got two shirts, two DVDs, three books and I pre-ordered one of the CDs. in between sessions, they blasted heavy rock and crunk music through the huge auditorium speakers. The speakers were half comedians, half pastors. They did a really good job of converting the passages and references in the bible into modern words and examples. The conference was centered around exhorting teenagers to live a life worthy of God, and how not to succumb to all of the evils in this world, and how to remain pure in an impure world. What is funny, is, Purity Dairy donated lemonade, chocolate milk, and assorte4d desserts, to the conference (about remaining pure).
