not good
over the past week and a half, or so, I have had unusually severe prolonged Periodic Paralysis attacks, lasting most of the day. If it was not for the medicine, that wold mean i would be on my bed, immobile, almost all day. As it is, half of the time, I cannot walk. Pray for me. Fortunately, I have an appointment in Birmingham on the 4th of next month. It has not been that bad today, I have managed to get probably a third of my math done ( compared to none most of the time). I hope that the doctor in Birmingham knows what to do.

Trey’s Writing for 1-14-2007
Journal Entry.
Recently a major thing has happened in my life. I have greatly improved my work ethic in just a couple of weeks. While I have yet to master the art of writing my stuff down, I have gotten more work done outside of school in the past couple weeks that I have in several months. Yesterday and this morning, I have achieved my goal of making my room look like an office. I have my newly-sanded computer desk, with nothing on it except my monitor, keyboard, speakers, and mouse/mouse pad. I have brought into my room a spare folding table that we had out in the garage that we use whenever guests come over. I do my math, bible reading, and other reading on that table, and any other stuff that I need a flat surface for. I have taken out my metal shelves that I had in my room, and moved that table into it’s place. I have put my boombox that was on the shelves, onto my chest of drawers. I have also brought in my huge music system that was in the garage. I had taken it out of the Icebox, because it was taking up too much room. I moved in the chair from the old computer that died recently, and assigned it to the new desk. I have also vacuumed my room this morning. Today, I finished my chore and math by lunch, and marked them off. I started the driving book last night, but didn’t get very far, because I was tired, and decided to go to bed early. On Saturday, I was grounded from computers and videos for a week, because I forgot to write down almost all of my chores and school last week. I am hoping that being banned from computers will give me a chance to catch up on a lot of non-computer based (if you can imaging that) stuff that I have been needing to catch up on, like getting my chores and bible reading done on time, and remembering to write all if my school stuff off during the day. I also need to start looking for a job. When we went to Computer ER, they told me about two different computer stores. I do not want to apply at Computer ER, since they deal mainly with older computers, but I was thinking about checking out the other two stores.

I think that I have finally decided what computer I am going to save up for. The reason I have a particular one that I am saving up for is so I can have a goal, and not just save up a certain amount of money, and then go out onto the market to look for a computer. If I did that, I would get around $350, and then I would start to look at computers, and get distracted from my real goal, since I have decided to wait, and save up for a really good computer that will last me about ten years. I had to decide whether to get a computer, or a laptop. I was wanting a laptop, because I already have a computer, however wimpy it is, and because a laptop would be more portable. Also, I will probably need a laptop whenever I go to college. However, I was also considering a computer for several reasons. The main one was that I could get about twice as good a computer as I could a laptop, for the same amount of money. I finally decided to get a computer. I decided that a computer would last me a lot longer than a laptop, and I could still get a cheap laptop whenever I start to get ready for college. I have decided to get a Dell XPS 420. It is the top-of-the-line in sleekness, which I love, and it has everything that I ever wanted in a computer. officially, it is labeled as a gaming computer, but that is not what I will use it as. it has a starting RAM capacity of 3GB, and can be upgraded to at least 4GB. it has a 320GB hard drive, which I am not very picky about, since that is easily and cheaply upgraded. It has either a 128MB video card, or a 256MB. I would choose the 256MB, even though it is quite expensive, it is an astronomical difference. It has a decent CD drive. it can read and write DVDs, with a dual drive option as a cheap(ish) upgrade. It has Bluetooth capability, which is used for both the keyboard, and the mouse. The monitor that I am currently looking at is a 20” monitor with a webcam and 4-port USB hub, I think. maybe not the webcam, it might have been something else. The 420 comes with Vista Premium, and a deluxe pack of photo and video software, but I would just Get another HDD, and install Linux on it, and maybe install Xp on the first drive. I am not going to make Vista my primary OS. Unless they come out with a service pack or two (or ten!) by the time I get my computer. I will either keep my old computer as a backup, or make it a public computer for the entire family. Or both. This should happen in the next year or two. As soon as I get a permit, I will earnestly start looking for a computer-oriented job, and apply at pretty much every computer store in town.
