No more Windows!!! sort of…
Today, I made a step, as an American citizen, to better the world! I formatted my Windows partition! Therefore no more windows. Well, okay, I must admit, I am writing this from Windows. …and Linux… I used Vmware to create a virtual machine, and I installed Windows XP on it, legal, because I had one on the computer already (but you could question my methods[this explanation intentionally left blank]). It is installed, and works perfectly. I have everything turned off that is possible, to improve my speed, 1: because it is a VM, and will unavoidably not be as fast as a regular install, and, 2: because I installed it with the sole purpose of running Itunes, and games, since I cannot (well, okay, some of the games work under wine) run those on Linux. It is working fairly well, I have allotted it 512MB of RAM, and a fake 15GB HDD. I told to HDD to look like 15GB, without actually losing 15GB of space, it uses more space as it needs it, meaning I have to keep my main partition fairy clean. Anyway, in short, I succesfully installed a Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Virtual Machine, and I am running in it now, just for the sake of being able to say that I am writing in it right now. This is a first for me, I have never even considered something like this before. Congrats to me!!!
Windows XP Service Pack 3
We have been getting mixed feedback from users that have installed the Windows XP SP3. One of the biggest complaints is Microsoft did not include Direct X 10. The service pack employs many features of Vista and seems to turn your current version of XP into a steppingstone for purchasing a full copy of Vista. Please be sure your current computer programs will be able to handle the transition to SP3 or you may not be able to use them anymore.
