Ubuntu and Windows run Simultaneously!
I have successfully gotten both Hardy Heron and Windows XP running simultaneously, Windows Start Bar on the bottom, and the Ubuntu Menu Bar on the top of the screen, and both of the desktops are synced automatically!!
I accomplished this ridiculously amazing feat through an application known as VirtualBox. All I had to do was install the software, run a normal VM, and install Windows XP on it. Then, once on the functioning machine, I selected “Seamless Mode.” That’s it! No miracle of mine, no wierd hacks. Of course, the article I mentioned earlier has some neat tricks That make it a little better.
However, I must mention one rather large bug I have in it. It definitely has something to do with my machine, but it might affect other machines, as well. Without a window open, the visuals of the VM Windows get all messed up. However, to fix this, I merely installed a cool dock on my system, so it would always have something running. However, even then, around the edges of the dock, you could see the wallpaper of the VM. All I had to do to fix it was make the two wallpapers the same. These errors will most likely not occur on your system, but that is how to fix them, in case they do.
